Bow down to the Fit and Versa Note, Yaris Liftback. It’s going away for 2019. The Yaris was a good, simple car, but I don’t think anyone will be crying.

However, this might not be the last we’ll be hearing about the Yaris. Should we remain hopeful Toyota will release a new hatchback version based on Mazda2 bones?

Also, this means the Dodge Journey is the last vehicle to be sold in 2019 with a four-speed automatic transmission. Bless the Journey.

Prius C: Exists

Seriously with the Prius C/Aqua there was no reason for the Yaris hatch to exist .

I hate the Prius C but agree it’s a better overall car. I rarely see any Yaris’s in a city full of Fits, Versa’s, Sonics.

Indeed. We always had a few around when I worked at Enterprise. That class has now been replaced with Mitsubishi Mirage’s and Chevy Spark’s.

I don’t believe so. Think they’ve had the same tried and true 1.5l 106HP since they Echo days.

What are we down to in the hella small hatch segment now? Fit, Versa Note, Spark, Prius V, or is that bigger? Mazda2 still exists in the USDM if you go out to Puerto Rico. You can “import” them from their without any regulation, which is neat.

Don’t forget the Mitsubishi Mirage! 3 Cylinders of fury! Fiesta is still around for MY 19 as well. Prius V is the more wagon version, you’re probably thinking of the Prius C.

If automatic, I go Accent > Fit > Versa > Death > Yaris.

Manual Fit for the win, but generally I don’t like the Sub segment and would rather have a compact.
